Leyland & Farington C.C. - Hall of Shame
Even great sporting institutions such as L&F have had embarrassing moments in their past. The Hall of Shame will highlight people and incidents that have not conformed to the high standards we expect.
Aidan Walsh - 'No ball in a bowl out': It's perhaps forgivable to bowl a wide in a bowl out situation. It is a special kind of idiot that does so having already overstepped popping crease and then asks if he gets to bowl the delivery again.
"Richie" - It's not a good sign when your sub-pro turns up with his kit in a Morrisons carrier bag. This lad got a third ball duck and took none for 20 off 2 overs against Fleetwood in 2001. At least he made the rest of us look good.
Ian McDonnell - Can't really elaborate on why the dour opening batsman finds himself here because I'm pretty fond of my ankles.
Chris Gibirdi - Missing cricket to operate the Crazy Caterpillar ride at Camelot theme park. What are you thinking? Like Dermot Reeve, you need to get your head together. The only acceptable reasons for missing cricket are; (a) routine hospital surgery (eg. appendectomy), (b) final year university exams and possibly (c) attending a major international sporting event.
Who else should be in the Hall of Shame? Is Aidan lucky to only have one entry? Suggest future Hall of Shame entries.
